Twinning
South Kirkby & Moorthorpe have now been twinned with Sprockhovel in Germany since 1981. Villages of all ages have enjoyed our exchanges and it has helped to give people an insight into how our European friends live. It has also provided an educational platform for students and led to many lasting friendships.
The twinning was started by the Town Council, which continues to support the initiative. The Town Council is also pleased to recognise the dedicated work of the long time twinning secretary Sylvia Harrison.

We also have a twinning arrangement with the Town Of Lodeve in the south of France which commenced in 1985.
