Mayor Presents cheque to British Legion

The Mayor of South Kirkby and Moorthorpe, Councillor Eric Tunstall, today presented a cheque to Jim Picken, Secretery of the South Elmsall Branch of the British Legion. Mr Picken can be seen above accepting the cheque from Councillor Tunstall, which was a contribution towards the costs of refreshments provided by the British Legion following the Remembrance Sunday Parade.

Shown below are the wreaths placed in South Elmsall on Sunday, including one in tribute to the members of the 3rd Rifles who were killed in Afganistan.

Renovation of Moorthorpe Station

Following months of negotiations with Network Rail and The Office of Rail Regulations the Town Council has finally obtained a lease on the former station building.
Work on restoration will commence shortly, as shown in the video below.
